Sidney took me out to his car with him and left a different way than everyone else. He said it was because he didn't want the fans and people to see him and I together. Which, I understood. We weren't in the car for long and we pulled up to a beautiful house. We got out of the car and walked in and saw some people I didn't know on the couch.
"Mario, this is my friend Emily. She was going to stay in a hotel but, I told her she could stay here. I hope that's okay." Sid said to the man on the couch who I figured was Mario.
"Of course." he said standing up. "Emily, my daughter Stephanie is a big fan of yours."
I smiled and shook his hand. "Really? That's great."
He smiled back and I followed him and Sid to where the living room was. I said hello to Natalie and Austin. Mario called down his daughters and I got to meet Lauren, Alexa, and Stephanie. They all were really great people.
"Well, it's time for us all to go to bed." Mario said standing up. "Sid, don't stay up too late okay?"
"Alright. Goodnight everyone." Sid said.
"Goodnight you two."
"Goodnight." I said.
I watched as Alexa came over and gave Sid a hug before heading upstairs. I thought that was really sweet. He was really close with those kids.
"So, do you want me to show you where you're going to stay now?" Sid asked me.
"Sure."
"Alright, follow me."
Sid lead me in a completely different wing of the house.
"This is my room." he said pointing to a room as we walked by. "And, this is where you will be staying." he said walking into the room across the hall.
I grabbed him.
"Thanks Sid.. for everything."
"You're welcome." he said smiling and pulling me into another hug.
"Are you ready to go to bed or do you want to stay up more?" he asked me when he pulled away.
"I'm actually not that tired yet. Are you tired?"
He smiled, "Not at all."
We went down to the living area of his wing of the house after changing into our pajamas. We sat down on the couch and Sid turned on the TV. We sat there watching and laughing at Friends for a while. Eventually Sid turned to me.
"How long are you staying?" he asked me.
"I don't really know. I can stay as long as I want."
"Oh, okay. Do you want me to show you around Pittsburgh?"
"Sure, we can do that someday." I said smiling.
After a little bit we decided to go to bed. We stopped outside of our rooms.
"Sid. Thanks again for all of this." I said.
"Emily, stop. It's no problem. You know I would do anything for you."
I smiled, "Goodnight, Sid."
"Goodnight, Emily." he said.
He gave me one more hug and then we both went into our own rooms.
I sighed as I went to bed that night. The next morning I woke up to Sid coming in my room. I groaned. "Sid, what are you doing?"
"Come on. I want to show you something."
"What time is it?"
"Six."
"Sid!"
"Just get dressed and come on. Trust me."
"Fine." I said getting out of bed.
I didn't really care what I looked like so I just pulled my hair up in a bun and put on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I didn't feel like putting my contacts in so, I was just going to wear my glasses.
"Beautiful." Sid said as I came out.
"Sid, stop. No."
"Fine. But, yes."
I smiled slightly.
It was still dark outside. Sid led me down the road and eventually we were walking up a hill. He sat down at the top of the hill and I followed.
"Sid, why are we here?" I asked getting kinda annoyed.
"Just, look." he said pointing to the sky.
As I looked I saw the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen.
"Wow. That was beautiful." I said to Sid as we were walking back to Mario's house.
"Are you glad I woke you up now?"
"Well.. I'm not as mad anymore." I said slightly laughing.
"Let's go get breakfast."
"Okay."
We got in the car and he started driving.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To get breakfast, silly." he said looking and smiling at me.
"Sid.."
"What? It's not like you know it. You've never really been to Pittsburgh to just visit. By the way, since I don't have practice today. Do you want me to show you around today?"
"Um, yeah sure. I have to go back to Mario's though. So, I can change."
He looked at me, "You look fine."
"I don't want people to recognize me."
"Right. I should change too then. But, just so you know. Even if someone does recognize you. Well.. Pittsburgh people are very considerate."
"Not everyone is though. You just like to think you live in a perfect world."
I looked in the mirror and saw him roll his eyes. "Whatever."
We got back from breakfast and we both changed. I put on a tank top and I couldn't find the hoodie I brought. So, I asked Sid if I could borrow one of his. He handed me a hoodie and I went back to change. It smelled wonderful, God.
Today was great - really. Sid showed me all around the city. Pittsburgh really was a great place. And, only a few people recognized me. But, a good bit people recognized Sid. I didn't realize how big of a hero he was around here. We went into Mario's house and saw that no one was home. We both went into our rooms and changed into something more comfortable.
"Hey, you want to come outside with me?" Sid asked showing up at the door to my room.
"Yeah, sure." I said getting off the bed and walked with him outside. When we got out there Sid went over to sit on the swing sitting there and I followed him.
"So, since you never told me. Why did you break up with Mike?" he asked me.
"Well.. if you must know. I just.. didn't like him that much anymore."
"Why not?"
He knew why he just wanted to hear me say it. "Because I sorta started having feelings for someone else."
He turned and looked at me, "Who?" he said with a smile.
"Well.."
"You know. I can't do this much longer, Emily." he said interrupting me.
"What?"
"I can't just keep waiting around for you. I need to get on with my life. Weather you're in it or not."
"What does that mean?"
"Tell me why. Tell me why you came to Pittsburgh, the real reason."
"Sid. I.."
"God, Emily. Spit it out."
"I have feelings for you. okay? I just.. I don't know what to do. I don't think you want to come into my world. It would put a lot more pressure on you. And, I don't even know what I want. I don't even know if I want a boyfriend right now."
I looked up at him, he was just staring at me, not saying a word. He didn't say anything. He just leaned up and kissed me.
That night I went to sleep with a smile on my face. The next day I wanted to go shopping so, I decided to see if Stephanie wanted to come with me. I needed something to wear since I was going to a New Years party with Sidney tonight. Of course she wanted to so, I took her to one of the malls Sid showed me yesterday. I got to know Stephanie really well. I bought something for the party. A pair of shorts and a hoodie since I lost mine.
I went back home and only had an hour to get ready. So, I loosely curled my hair and put on some make up. I put on a pair of denim shorts - since Sid said it was just a casual party - and, a simple tank top. I didn't want to wear my hoodie. I wanted to wear Sid's. When I was ready I went over to Sid's room and, asked if I could wear his hoodie again. He handed it to me and said he would be ready in a minute.
My suitcase was on my bed and I was putting away all the clothes I had out from the past day. Out of no where I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I smiled and turned around to have Sid's lips touch mine.
"Sit down." he said pointing to the bed.
I listened and sat down on the bed and he sat down next to me.
"Why are you so afraid of me?" Sid started talking.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I'm not stupid, Emily. Why are you afraid of me?"
I sighed.. I knew I couldn't hide it, he knew me too well. "I've just been hurt so many times Sid.."
"How long have we been talking?"
"What?"
"How long have we been talking?"
"A year or so?"
"And have I ever hurt you in any way?"
"No.."
"Exactly, and I'm not going to. Emily, I have had feelings for you for forever and I finally got you. I wouldn't just throw that away."
"I..I'm sorry.."
"Look at me Emily."
I turned and faced him. He just sat there. Then placed his hand on my cheek and leaned in and pressed his lips to mine.
"I know we haven't been dating for very long but, we have been best friends for a good while now. I love you Emily. You don't have to feel the same way. I just want you to know that."
I just sat there for a second. Finally, I could speak and I whispered "I love you too, Sidney."
"Let's go."
