Sidney took me out to his car with him and left a different way than everyone else. He said it was because he didn't want the fans and people to see him and I together. Which, I understood. We weren't in the car for long and we pulled up to a beautiful house. We got out of the car and walked in and saw some people I didn't know on the couch.
"Mario, this is my friend Emily. She was going to stay in a hotel but, I told her she could stay here. I hope that's okay." Sid said to the man on the couch who I figured was Mario.
"Of course." he said standing up. "Emily, my daughter Stephanie is a big fan of yours."
I smiled and shook his hand. "Really? That's great."
He smiled back and I followed him and Sid to where the living room was. I said hello to Natalie and Austin. Mario called down his daughters and I got to meet Lauren, Alexa, and Stephanie. They all were really great people.
"Well, it's time for us all to go to bed." Mario said standing up. "Sid, don't stay up too late okay?"
"Alright. Goodnight everyone." Sid said.
"Goodnight you two."
"Goodnight." I said.
I watched as Alexa came over and gave Sid a hug before heading upstairs. I thought that was really sweet. He was really close with those kids.
"So, do you want me to show you where you're going to stay now?" Sid asked me.
"Sure."
"Alright, follow me."
Sid lead me in a completely different wing of the house.
"This is my room." he said pointing to a room as we walked by. "And, this is where you will be staying." he said walking into the room across the hall.
I grabbed him.
"Thanks Sid.. for everything."
"You're welcome." he said smiling and pulling me into another hug.
"Are you ready to go to bed or do you want to stay up more?" he asked me when he pulled away.
"I'm actually not that tired yet. Are you tired?"
He smiled, "Not at all."
We went down to the living area of his wing of the house after changing into our pajamas. We sat down on the couch and Sid turned on the TV. We sat there watching and laughing at Friends for a while. Eventually Sid turned to me.
"How long are you staying?" he asked me.
"I don't really know. I can stay as long as I want."
"Oh, okay. Do you want me to show you around Pittsburgh?"
"Sure, we can do that someday." I said smiling.
After a little bit we decided to go to bed. We stopped outside of our rooms.
"Sid. Thanks again for all of this." I said.
"Emily, stop. It's no problem. You know I would do anything for you."
I smiled, "Goodnight, Sid."
"Goodnight, Emily." he said.
He gave me one more hug and then we both went into our own rooms.
I sighed as I went to bed that night. The next morning I woke up to Sid coming in my room. I groaned. "Sid, what are you doing?"
"Come on. I want to show you something."
"What time is it?"
"Six."
"Sid!"
"Just get dressed and come on. Trust me."
"Fine." I said getting out of bed.
I didn't really care what I looked like so I just pulled my hair up in a bun and put on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I didn't feel like putting my contacts in so, I was just going to wear my glasses.
"Beautiful." Sid said as I came out.
"Sid, stop. No."
"Fine. But, yes."
I smiled slightly.
It was still dark outside. Sid led me down the road and eventually we were walking up a hill. He sat down at the top of the hill and I followed.
"Sid, why are we here?" I asked getting kinda annoyed.
"Just, look." he said pointing to the sky.
As I looked I saw the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen.
"Wow. That was beautiful." I said to Sid as we were walking back to Mario's house.
"Are you glad I woke you up now?"
"Well.. I'm not as mad anymore." I said slightly laughing.
"Let's go get breakfast."
"Okay."
We got in the car and he started driving.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To get breakfast, silly." he said looking and smiling at me.
"Sid.."
"What? It's not like you know it. You've never really been to Pittsburgh to just visit. By the way, since I don't have practice today. Do you want me to show you around today?"
"Um, yeah sure. I have to go back to Mario's though. So, I can change."
He looked at me, "You look fine."
"I don't want people to recognize me."
"Right. I should change too then. But, just so you know. Even if someone does recognize you. Well.. Pittsburgh people are very considerate."
"Not everyone is though. You just like to think you live in a perfect world."
I looked in the mirror and saw him roll his eyes. "Whatever."
We got back from breakfast and we both changed. I put on a tank top and I couldn't find the hoodie I brought. So, I asked Sid if I could borrow one of his. He handed me a hoodie and I went back to change. It smelled wonderful, God.
Today was great - really. Sid showed me all around the city. Pittsburgh really was a great place. And, only a few people recognized me. But, a good bit people recognized Sid. I didn't realize how big of a hero he was around here. We went into Mario's house and saw that no one was home. We both went into our rooms and changed into something more comfortable.
"Hey, you want to come outside with me?" Sid asked showing up at the door to my room.
"Yeah, sure." I said getting off the bed and walked with him outside. When we got out there Sid went over to sit on the swing sitting there and I followed him.
"So, since you never told me. Why did you break up with Mike?" he asked me.
"Well.. if you must know. I just.. didn't like him that much anymore."
"Why not?"
He knew why he just wanted to hear me say it. "Because I sorta started having feelings for someone else."
He turned and looked at me, "Who?" he said with a smile.
"Well.."
"You know. I can't do this much longer, Emily." he said interrupting me.
"What?"
"I can't just keep waiting around for you. I need to get on with my life. Weather you're in it or not."
"What does that mean?"
"Tell me why. Tell me why you came to Pittsburgh, the real reason."
"Sid. I.."
"God, Emily. Spit it out."
"I have feelings for you. okay? I just.. I don't know what to do. I don't think you want to come into my world. It would put a lot more pressure on you. And, I don't even know what I want. I don't even know if I want a boyfriend right now."
I looked up at him, he was just staring at me, not saying a word. He didn't say anything. He just leaned up and kissed me.
That night I went to sleep with a smile on my face. The next day I wanted to go shopping so, I decided to see if Stephanie wanted to come with me. I needed something to wear since I was going to a New Years party with Sidney tonight. Of course she wanted to so, I took her to one of the malls Sid showed me yesterday. I got to know Stephanie really well. I bought something for the party. A pair of shorts and a hoodie since I lost mine.
I went back home and only had an hour to get ready. So, I loosely curled my hair and put on some make up. I put on a pair of denim shorts - since Sid said it was just a casual party - and, a simple tank top. I didn't want to wear my hoodie. I wanted to wear Sid's. When I was ready I went over to Sid's room and, asked if I could wear his hoodie again. He handed it to me and said he would be ready in a minute.
My suitcase was on my bed and I was putting away all the clothes I had out from the past day. Out of no where I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I smiled and turned around to have Sid's lips touch mine.
"Sit down." he said pointing to the bed.
I listened and sat down on the bed and he sat down next to me.
"Why are you so afraid of me?" Sid started talking.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I'm not stupid, Emily. Why are you afraid of me?"
I sighed.. I knew I couldn't hide it, he knew me too well. "I've just been hurt so many times Sid.."
"How long have we been talking?"
"What?"
"How long have we been talking?"
"A year or so?"
"And have I ever hurt you in any way?"
"No.."
"Exactly, and I'm not going to. Emily, I have had feelings for you for forever and I finally got you. I wouldn't just throw that away."
"I..I'm sorry.."
"Look at me Emily."
I turned and faced him. He just sat there. Then placed his hand on my cheek and leaned in and pressed his lips to mine.
"I know we haven't been dating for very long but, we have been best friends for a good while now. I love you Emily. You don't have to feel the same way. I just want you to know that."
I just sat there for a second. Finally, I could speak and I whispered "I love you too, Sidney."
"Let's go."

chapter one.
That night I decided to watch the hockey game Penguins vs. Flyers on my buses TV. The Penguins eventually won the game 4-3 with Sidney getting two goals. I didn't watch a lot of hockey but, I had to admit - I was impressed by him.
The next morning I woke up and realized I should get ready to have breakfast with Sidney. Just when I got dressed I heard a knock on the door. Thinking it was Dan or someone from the band I went to answer it without thinking. I opened the door to see Mike.
"Mike, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Not happy to see me?" He said jokingly.
"Of course." I said giving him a hug.
"I thought I would surprise you."
"Oh.. well.. I was just about to leave in a half an hour or so."
"Are you going somewhere so important that you can't cancel to spend time with your boyfriend."
"No, I guess not."
"Good." he said smiling
God, I hated myself. What was Sidney going to think? We went inside the bus and sat down on my bed and started watching TV. I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. I came out and saws Mike looking through my phone.
"Who's Sidney?" he asked with an angry voice.
"What?" I said trying to act like I didn't know anything.
"Sidney just called you.. who is he?"
"Shit.." I said under my breath. "Oh, he's just someone new that's helping us do the concert tonight."
"What did he call you?"
"I don't know. Can I have my phone so I can call back and find out?"
"Yeah." he said handing me my phone.
I walked outside to call Sidney back.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Sidney.. I'm sorry I can't come to breakfast today."
"Why?"
"Um.. my boyfriend showed up out of nowhere."
"Your boyfriend?" he said sounding kinda disappointed.
"Yes, I'm sorry for not telling you before. We just didn't get the chance to really talk that much."
"It's okay. And, yeah I know. Well.. can we start talking more? I want to be friends."
"Yeah, sure. That sounds great."
"Okay, good. So, I'll talk to you later?"
"Yepp. Bye."
"Bye." he said and I hung up the phone.
I walked back into the bus. "What did he want?"
"Oh.. just wanted to double check on our set for the concert tonight."
"Oh.. okay."
[three months later]
Sidney and I have been texting and talking to each other non-stop since that day. He soon became my best friend I told him everything. I knew he had feelings for me.. he admitted it. And, we were still completely comfortable with each other even with me knowing that.
'So, how was your day?' he asked me over text.
'Ehh.. Mike and I had another fight. -sigh-'
'I'm sorry.. I don't mean to sound like.. you know. But, why are you still with him? I mean, you fight like.. pretty much everyday. It doesn't seem worth it.'
'I know.. It's just.. I don't really know.'
'You deserve sooo much more. You're a smart, fun, beautiful woman. He's just.. blahh.'
'Thank you, best friend <3'>'Yeah, best friend..'

'Sid, don't be like that.'
'I know.. I'm sorry.'
'It's fine. I forgive you :)'
'I know.'
'It's time for your nap.. have a nice nap. good luck tonight :)'
'Thank you. <3'>'Byee, best friend <3'
I sighed as I put my phone on the counter next to me. I needed to do something.. and, I need to do it now. I was started to develop feelings for Sid.. there was no hiding it. But, first I needed to break up with Mike. And, Sid needs to prove to me that he's not like all the other guys. Yes, Sid has tried soo hard to get me. He's proved to me that he in dead has feelings for me. Randomly showing up at some of my shows or big events. But, he needs to prove that he won't break my heart if I let him in. I picked up the phone and dialed Mike's phone number.
"Hello?" he said when he picked it up.
"Mike, we need to talk. Can you come to my house?"
"Yeah, Sure."
"Okay, see you then."
"Bye."
I sighed as I hung up the phone. This isn't going to be easy. Mike showed up shortly after.
"What's wrong babe?"
"I..I.." I said as we sat down on the couch. "I can't date you anymore."
"What? Why? It's because of Sid isn't it?"
"I have feelings for him.."
"I don't blame you.. I saw this coming."
"I'm sorry.."
"It's my fault. I should have left a long time ago. Instead of keeping you in a relationship you don't want to be in."
"Well.. I'll go. I hope you and Sid all the best." he said getting up from the couch and walking towards the door.
"Bye."
"Bye."
That night I laid in bed thinking about well.. everything. What was I thinking? Sid isn't going to want to date me. I made him wait way too long. He's probably way over me. Why didn't I listen to him a long time ago and just dumped Mike then? Sid and I would be together then.. and happy. Ugh.. whatever. I didn't even bother watching the hockey game tonight I just went to sleep.
The next day I barely talked to Sid. He was on his way back home but, I told him I had broke up with Mike. I've made up my mind. I didn't care what anyone thought of me being at the hockey game.. if they saw me. Sid was going to be in Pittsburgh and, I knew that. I needed to talk to him.. badly.. and in person. I sighed as I got on the plane to Pittsburgh. Tonight was the game.. and, I was going to get things straight.
I got off the plane around nine-thirty. I didn't need to be at the game till the end so, I could talk to Sid. I went straight to the arena after I got off my plane. I got to the game and realized it was in overtime. I went down to the locker room and watched it from the TV right outside of it and sat down on the bench. Before I knew it Sid scored the game winning goal. I smiled and just sat there.
I started seeing guys come off the ice. They all gave me a look none of them knowing why I was there. Sid being captain I knew he would be one of the last if not the last ones back to the locker room. Soon Sid came. He saw me sitting there and walked over to me and I stood up.
"Emily!" he said and gave me a big hug. I sighed loving the feeling of his arms around me.
I laughed, "Sid. It's kinda hard to hug you with your hockey gear on."
"I know. Sorry." he said smiling. "I can't believe you're here."
"Neither can I." I said looking down.
"Well.. I'm going to change and stuff. I'll skip the media today so, you don't have to wait."
"You don't have to do that."
"I know. But, I want to."
"Okay." I said smiling.
He left and went into the locker room. He didn't even ask why I was here. He was just happy I was here.
Sid's point of view
I walked into the locker room. I couldn't believe Emily was here.
"Sid!" I heard someone yell.
I turned around and saw Max.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Why is she here?"
"I don't really know."
"Are you dating her?"
"No..." I sighed.
"Is that a sigh I hear? Does Sidney Crosby have a crush?" Max said smiling.
"What! Who!" Marc-Andre came from behind hearing what Max said.
"Emily." Max said grinning from ear to ear.
"Dude! She's like famous!" Marc yelled.
"Guys! Stop!" I yelled.
I walked away and went to get in the shower so, Emily wouldn't be waiting too long. I walked out of the shower and saw Emily in here with all the guys joking around. She looked over at me and I smiled. She smiled back and continued talking to Kris Letang. Marc walked over and told me they invited her in here so she wasn't all alone and if I minded. Of course I didn't mind.
I went to my stuff and put on my pair of dress pants. I was still very hot from the game. So, I decided not to put my shirt on yet. I walked over to Emily and the rest of the guys.
Emily's point of view
Max Talbot had invited me into the locker room so I wouldn't be alone. I walked in and he told me Sid was in the shower and, to just sit around and talk to the guys. I was having a lot of fun talking to and getting to know the guys. Kris Letang especially. He was extremely nice and funny along with Max and well.. pretty much all the guys. You should hear some of the things they would say.
Marc had walked away so I looked to see where he was going. I looked over and saw Sid in nothing but a towel. God, he had a nice body. He looked over and I smiled. He smiled back and I turned back around and said something to Kris.
I talked to the guys for a couple more minutes and looked to see if I could find Sid. I looked over and saw that someone he was talking to just left and he was alone. I noticed he still didn't have a shirt on and that made me happy for some reason.
"Hey." he said as I looked over to him.
"Hey. I haven't gotten to tell you this yet so, good game tonight." I said.
"Thanks. How about a hug now? No hockey gear." he said smiling at me.
"Okay." I said smiling back.
I got closer to him and put my arms around him. He wrapped his arms around me. It felt soo good in his arms. I don't remember ever feeling this way when I hugged anyone else. I breathed in. He smelled good after all, he did just get out of the shower. He eventually pulled away.
"How did you get here?" he asked me.
"Got a ride from the airport."
"Where are you staying?"
"I don't know yet. I haven't thought that much into it. I'll find a hotel somewhere."
He was shaking his head. "No, I won't allow that. You're going to stay at Mario's with me."
"Are you sure. I don't want to be a problem."
"You won't be a problem. Now, come on." he said putting on his shirt and jacket to my dismay.
