"Emily, I have someone I want you to meet." my good friend and guitar player Dan said to me.
I sighed, "Dan, really? When are you going to quit?"
"Until you find someone to spend forever with!" he said smiling.
"How do you know this guy anyways?"
"He's a good friend of a friend of mine."
"So you don't even know him personally!?"
"Please."
"Just.. what does he do?"
"He's a hockey player here."
"Fine." I said.
My name was Emily Moore. I was a professional singer. I was currently touring and, at the moment was in Pittsburgh, and just got done with my concert there. My friend Dan had been trying to hook me up with guys for as long as I've known him even though I had a boyfriend. I have dated some but, not that much. I have been really busy lately.
Dan took my hand and lead me to where the guy was standing. His back was to me and talking to my drummer. He turned around and I was shocked. He was... gorgeous. I never saw someone as good looking as him before. But, I don't just judge people by their looks.
"Sid, this is Emily. Emily this is Sidney." Dan said. Sidney stuck out his hand and, I shook it.
"Hi. It's nice to meet you." he said smiling.
I smiled back, "It's nice to meet you too."
"You did great tonight by the way."
"Thank you." I said smiling.
Everyone left and it was just me and him.
"So, I here your a hockey player?" I said trying to make conversation with him.
"Yep. I'm the captain of the Penguins." he said smiling to himself.
"Really? That's cool." I said slightly laughing and he smiled.
"So, I'm sorry if Dan made you come here or do anything." I said feeling bad.
"He didn't make me do anything."
"Really?"
"No. I wanted to meet you."
"Oh.."
"Is that bad?"
"Of course not."
We talked for a little while longer and exchanged numbers. I went back to the bus and sighed as I laid down on my bed. My phone started ringing and I looked to see Dan calling me from the other bus.
"Yes?" I said answering.
"Can I stay on your bus tonight. They're being jerks."
I laughed, "Sure."
He came over seconds later with some of his stuff. The bus started driving shortly after that. "So, what do you think of Sid?" he said smiling.
I laughed, "He's.. well.. I wouldn't mind getting to know him."
He smiled, "You like him."
"No, I don't. I barely know him Dan, and neither do you. You know I'm dating Mike. I don't understand why you keep trying to set me up with people."
"Because Mike isn't right for you!"
I sighed.. "And Sidney is?"
"Yes, he is."
"You don't even know him!" I said getting frustrated.
"I know him enough by what my friend has told him."
"Like what?"
"He has a lot in common with you.. and, he really wants to get to know you. Just give him a chance Emily."
"I can't. I'm dating Mike.. sorry." and, with that we both went to bed.
I woke up the next morning at my usual time. We were already in Philly for my next concert. The concert wasn't till tomorrow so, I had three days here. My band and I decided to explore. We were walking and we saw a bus full of people stopped in front of a hotel. I decided to sit down at the bench outside the hotel because I was tired of walking.
I watched one by one as each guy got off the bus. Each one of them fairly large. Every so often there would be a guy with a black eye or a cut of his face. I was starting to wonder.. until I saw someone get off the bus I knew. I watched Sidney get off the bus and grab a bag from the under compartments.
He turned around and our eyes met. He looked confused and started walking over to me and my band. "Emily?" he said, "What are you doing here?"
I laughed. "Concert tomorrow. I'm guessing you have a game sometime?"
"Yeah, we're playing the Flyers tonight."
"Really?"
"Yeah. You should try and come."
"No.. I don't think I can do that. I wouldn't be able to sit with everyone, it would just be hectic."
"Oh yeah. I understand. Maybe some other time."
"Maybe." I said smiling.
"Hey, um.. I have to go get my room. But, maybe we can eat breakfast before I leave tomorrow if your not doing anything."
"Yeah, that's fine. Just, call me later for plans and stuff."
"Okay, sounds good. Well, bye."
"Bye." I said smiling at him.
He left and I turned to Dan who was smiling at me. "Shut up." I said.
"I didn't say anything." he said putting his hands up.
"Just.. no. Just, stop."
"Fine, fine."
